HOLIDAY HOMES IN LONDON
Ivy Lettings - Boutique Short Lets

Holiday Homes in London"Hassle-free" are two words rarely associated with the letting world.  At last here comes a trustworthy, family-run agency that will rent out your London home for short lets, minimum three nights, and take all the hassle onto their own shoulders.  Whether you have a small studio or a large house to let, simply hand over the keys to Guy van der Weshuizen, who will find and usher in respectful, carefully-vetted tourists.

Guy will make sure tenants are happy in your digs, and you can sit back sans souci and enjoy the cash which rolls in.  "My plan is to create a small-scale letting business, renting people's houses out while they're on holiday, or away for a few weeks, ensuring viability from a cost and hassle perspective," says Guy.

Previously a solicitor and an investment banker, Guy boasts excellent professional skills, which aren't usually part of the profile of letting agents.  He understands the demands of high fliers, as well as the more genteel and sophisticated demands of discerning, older travellers, many of whom are friends of his family from South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.  His clients are mostly couples, over 50s, from the Antipodes, who make ideal, respectable tenants.

Guy's inspiration began when he decided to put his own flat on the market to survive  redundancy, which coincided with his wife's maternity leave.  His first tenants were from New Zealand, a family who having come all this way wanted to stay for five weeks. So Guy upped sticks and took his wife and daughter Claudia to France so that the Kiwis could enjoy his flat while visiting London.  Guy quickly realized how easy it was to earn a tidy sum on his flat. He earned extra income, and his tenants really enjoyed the experience of living in his flat.  Guy decided to pursue the idea of an enterprise.

Unlike many estate agents, Guy isn't hung up on the white, minimal, global mantra of the letting world.  Most rental properties in London are ‘blank canvases,' in other words they have white walls and furniture, dark floors, black granite work surfaces and Ikea kitchens. Guy knows that seasoned visitors come to London looking for a uniquely English experience. Family homes and private flats are more personal, more cosy, more charming. Guy can offer you a flat in Notting Hill with the unique flavour of this trendy area, or a riverside Chelsea town house filled with antiques.  If you're determined to have modern and minimal, he can offer you that as well.

Only properties within 20 minutes of the centre of London are considered, and they must have easy access to tubes, buses and trains.  A team prepares the property with fresh linen and towels, flowers and even food and wine in the fridge if you like. Guy prepares a formal lease, and Ivy Lettings supervises the let.  Owners don't have to deal with the tenants. Tenants have the experience of living in a comfortable, private home with airport transfers, taxis, maids, theatre tickets, baby sitting and restaurant bookings on offer.

I have often rented family flats and houses in Italy or France, and it's by far the best way to enjoy your new environment.  Now Ivy Lettings offers visitors the ideal way to experience London, while owners of properties can earn extra income while they travel, or just capitalize a second property which isn't being used.

This way everyone wins. Sans souci!
